Pomme Journal

Objective

Develop a literary journal to feature short works of fiction by up-and-coming authors

Process

Created a brand identity and logo for Pomme Journal. Determined issue theme, published a call for entries, reviewed applications, selected and edited works. Employing Adobe InDesign, typeset and laid out all 17 works. Curated a small collection of accompanying photography that supported the text. Utilized Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to craft social media posts to promote the journal. Published the book, ordered author copies, assembled personal mail boxes to send out to the published authors.

Results

Successfully launched a literary journal, published two volumes through Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing.

Objective

Illustrate and typeset a children's poem to make available for sale on Amazon

Process

Leveraging AI Illustration via MidJourney, illustrated the classic children's poem "Wynken, Blynken and Nod" by Eugene Field with whimsical images that capture the dreamy essence of the poem. Employing Adobe InDesign, typeset and designed the book.

Results

Successfully published the book through Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing program.

Shakespeare's Book of Insults

Objective

Curate and design a book of insults from works of Shakespeare for literature enthusiasts.

Process

Gathered and selected insults from William Shakespeare's works. Using Adobe InDesign, typeset and formatted the insults. Added an insult generator page to the book for added user interaction and interest. Designed a cover featuring an altered image of an original portrait of Shakespeare so he looks like he's sticking out his tongue at the reader. Published the book and wrote accompanying promotional text.

Results

Successfully published the book on Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing and receive great reviews from customers.
